approx 3000 years of PMT but period still elusive

Does anyone else ever sometimes get a period that doesn’t show up for aaaaaages but is preceded by PMS for a ridiculous amount of days?

I’m currently on day 11 of aching breasts, sore lower abdomen, headache etc. It is day 34 of my cycle. I won’t be pregnant. Where the TWAT is my period? I am in agony!

Anyway, just wanted to know if others sometimes get this crazy long build up. It o Lyn happens every 3 or 4 cycles for me. Most of the time I get a few days of the symptoms and then it arrives. About one period in 4 arrives with no fanfare at all, completely symptom free.

I was wondering what causes the big painful build-up. I have endometriosis so maybe cysts or something? Any ideas anyone? Or just kind “yeah me too, it is rubbish” words would do.

Snap. Before DS1 I had this frequently, between DS1 & DS2 I had them every 28 days like clockwork and no pms. Since DS2 I have had 2 periods in quick succession and then none for 8 weeks now, but loads of cramps, backache etc. It sucks.

I have a PCOS diagnosis, not sure if it's related.

Thanks cuzcospoison. When I had my last scan for my endo, I was told that I have PCOS too but fairly mild (this was a couple of years ago though so could be worse now I suppose).

Similar experience to yours - periods calmed down a lot and were really regular and predictable in terms of pain and heaviness for a couple of years after having my DS put have ramped up to craziness and unpredictability again over the last few years.
