Which of you fuckers has given your child their recorder and told them to practice in the garden.

My child was given a recorder for Christmas. It got hidden lost.

Someone has sent their child outside to practice three blind mice.
I can imagine the conversation ‘why don’t you go and play for the birds’.

We don't do recorder at our school. We do ocarina. It's like recorder, only much, much worse.

I believe that the descant recorder, in the hands of the average primary school child, is a form of torture and should be banned under the Geneva Convention. The only thing worse is a whole group of primary school children playing their descant recorders together. They will all be playing at subtly different pitches, and at least one will be overblowing their recorder horribly, making an appalling noise.

My DM gave DS1 (6) one for Xmas...DH has just bought him a learn recorder book. I’m glad we live in a detached house (although he’s nowhere near managing ‘Three Blind Mice’ yet, so not guilty on that one).

Even in a detached house the noise from the garden would carry.

I understand now why I was sent to the furthest room of the house (big house, very thick stone walls) to practice the violin.

I “lost” DD’s recorder. Mil bought her another one.

I bloody despise that woman.

Ps “go and play for the birds” is a brilliant idea and I shall be sending DD out to do this forever more.

Ds was the proud owner of an occorena, used to lose it on a Fri and find it to take to exh's on a Saturday...
