Tips for toddler train trip

Have decided to take dd (2.7) on a visit to a museum in the nearest big city, just me and her. Train journey of around an hour, one change at a busy station. Am I crazy? Top tips? I'm thinking rucksack so hands free, plenty of snacks, a few small toys.

New things they have never played with before.
Mine enjoyed just walking up and down the train. Looking out of window at the bit inbetween carriages.

Took ds (4) and dd (2.5) on hours train last week. I bought a magazine with colouring, stickers and a free toy. She loved looking out the window, we read the story. All good fun and went really quickly 🤞

Not crazy at all! I've done heaps of journeys like that with my toddler and much prefer it to car journeys

I take a small decathlon rucksack with a few "toys" (stuff he finds interesting like old makeup brushes, sticker books) in it. But mainly he's thrilled by boring stuff like putting sachets of milk into an empty cardboard cup. Or emptying my wallet carefully.

That's what I'm hoping- there will be enough random stuff to keep her entertained. Think I'm most worried about the change to be honest but sure it will be fine

Go for it. The change will make it more interesting. Choose a couple toys, but it's amazing how entertaining the cardboard from a coffee cup and those wooden stirrers can be... If there's few people around, let them jump up and down (I have spent hours in inter-City vestibules with happy jumping toddlers...)
