Recommend a BBQ to me - complete novice

Budget around £300 so no Big Green Egg for me that I’ve just found whilst Googling.

Should I get a gas one, a charcoal one? It will be mostly used for four of us but would be good to do more when we have guests. One that could be stored outside with a suitable cover of course would be helpful as we have no room left in our titchy shed in our titchy garden. We’ve only ever used those disposable ones before so I reckon this is the year to invest.

We have a Weber kettle barbecue. It's charcoal and brilliant! Cooks food beautifully and it doesn't dry anything out.

Would agree about Weber kettle. Why go gas? You might as well cook indoors? You need proper charcoal!

I came on to suggest a webber kettle but see others have got here first.

No need to spend £300, imo.

Weber kettle, the one with the deeper base, think we paid £160 last year.

Get a Weber chimney charcoal starter thing too, you bung the charcoal in it, light it and in 20 mins pour into the bbq and you are ready to start cooking without faffing and wondering is ready yet.

Also get a charcoal divider so you can put the hot charcoal on one side only, so you have hotter and cooler sides for cooking quickly or slightly slower.

I don't see the point of gas either. You could use a griddle on the cooker to get the same effect as a gas barbecue
