Why do I look so different in photos people take of me?

I’m panicking as I get married soon.

Every photo someone else has taken of me makes me look awful. It doesn’t look like me, even my H2b says I look different on pictures. On selfies/pictures I take, I feel that looks like me. I’m dreading my wedding photos 😩😩😩

Images we see of ourselves in a mirror are laterally inverted. We come to recognise this image of ourselves, and this is often why we feel photographs represent us so poorly. When Apple invented the forward facing camera, I believe they included software that laterally inverts the image, so we feel more comfortable with the image we see.
Doesnt explain why your husband thinks you look different though! Just try to embrace yourself and savour every image...they will help preserve wonderful memories!

In selfies youll angle your face naturally and stand in a flattering way as you can see the image. Practice with your dp taking the photos. Try different positions for your body and face. Know your good angles.

I am the same, I am not photo genic. I tell people this when they are taking pics, the laugh, but then look at the pics they have taken and are Confused at everyone,

I got bought one of those processional photo sessions once, and the photographer was pulling their hair out trying to get a decent picture Grin
