Pathetic but....

Is anybody else on their own today? First time since he was born that I haven't got ds (at his dad's all day) we had a family day last week instead. I went to church this morning but because I wasn't with ds everybody ignored me. The world around me spins to be having parties and BBQ's. I honestly thought I'd be fine with this and I'm not!! 😫
Anybody else in the same boat?

Yes I am alone today and loving it.

It is pure me time to read, drink coffee, pootle around in the garden and eat whatever I fancy.

Over the years I have learnt that being alone can be miserable or delightful depending on my attitude. I relish my alone days because I have decided to approach them as a treat.

I get more time alone now than I did when my DD was younger and actively seek it out, as a time to recharge my sense of me.

Sounds fab! I'm normally like you and really enjoy me time, no idea why I'm so fed up today Blush

Go find a good book, open a nice bottle of wine or find some Chocolate, get out in the garden and try to chill !!

Chocmallows · 21/04/2019 12:49

Yes and I'm bouncing between happiness and guilt - 100 things to do think cleaning not fun stuff and I'm on here and not dressed yet.

I blame being with people for me not doing boring jobs, now I'm still avoiding things. Please give me a push!

SpoonBlender · 21/04/2019 12:58

Are you suffering from a lack of chocolate? Normally one can pilfer from the kids' stash...

grumpyyetgorgeous · 21/04/2019 13:03

@Chocmallows no don't do jobs today, only fun stuff or relaxing, it's practically the law

Oh no! In that case I join the chorus prescribing a nice lie down/potter in the garden.

NoSauce · 21/04/2019 13:13

You mean because it’s Easter Sunday OP? It’s just another day, doesn’t mean anything. Try and do something nice for yourself.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 21/04/2019 13:15

I'm on my own today, not working for once either and am attempting to cut the grass in my back garden, although I do keep having breaks Hmm

Yes I suppose so, I woke up this morning to the sound of the neighbour's children having an Easter egg hunt so I felt guilty that I wasn't around to do that for my ds. Church was horrible but that's a whole other (long) story then the good weather always makes me feel like I should be out at a picnic or in a beer garden.
We actually had our Easter Sunday last week and have had a lovely holiday too. So not sure why I'm being so wet really Grin

I’m home with DH and DS but DH is ill and DS isn’t 100% either so we’re all a bit bored but lacking enthusiasm to do anything. I feel like everyone else is having fun in the sun, bbqing, egg hunting etc and we’re all a bit miserable. It is just another day though. They’ll be plenty more fun times ahead.

greatbigwho · 21/04/2019 13:34

I usually love my days off when my daughter is with her dad, but today is so hard, I've been teary all day.

And to posters saying "it's just another day" - yes, but you saying that doesn't make it any easier. It's a holiday where the non religious aspect of it is focused on kids having fun, and if your kids aren't with you, it can sting.

grumpyyetgorgeous · 21/04/2019 13:38

for you @greatbigwho it can be difficult on certain days can't it?
