I've just bent down to pick something up and my back has gone. I can't get up!!

The pain is immense and had spread over my entire lower back.

What do I do? Or what can I take?
I feel sick from the pain.

Lay on your back on the floor.

Slowly lift arms above your head and slowly stretch them out, even better if someone can gently pull them to stretch your spine out. Your arms must be parallel to the floor.

Gently bring knees together and slowly raise to your chest so that your lower spine is eased as stretched out.

That should relieve you if it was a temporarily pinched nerve.

I lay on the floor once when my back went - couldn't get to again! Had to lie there for hours until someone came home to help me move. Was not pleasant.

I find sitting on a hard chair until I get my breath back helps. Ibuprofen and hot water bottles. The very slow, gentle moving about to loosen up.
