Beef joint slow cooker recipe needed

I've bought a 2kg beef roasting joint and it's just dawned on me I have no idea how to cook it in the slow cooker! I'm supposed to be serving it up for dinner this afternoon and have already left it very late!

Can anyone give me a simple recipe to quickly throw it in with please? I've never actually used the slow cooker yet so a bit unsure.

Only just seen this so hope you did OK? I put a chopped onion, or chopped shallots, some chopped mushrooms and about a half pint of veg stock - I found beef stock was too strong. On low for about 8 hours - turn a couple times if I'm in the house, but not if I'm at work. Should be lovely. Have tried variations with red wine, etc. But this simple recipe is my favourite.

When cooked, tip the juices into a separating jug to separate out the fat, stick the shallots & mushrooms in a hand blender add back some of the lovely cooking liquid, makes a sort of instant gravy! (Might need to warm a little in the microwave again)

Put a roughly chopped onion, carrot and the beef into a wok and brown them all quickly. Reglaze with red wine, reducing by half. Into the slow cooker with a pinch of salt, no more, 3-4 twists of black pepper and a star anise. Set slow cooker to high, put a tea towel over the top, and when it comes to the boil turn it to low. If you have a meat thermometer, it's done when it gets to 77°. About 2.5 hours at that weight.
