Born To be Different- Shelbie died

I followed these families for years and was thinking about Shelbie this morning and googled to see if there was any info as the last programme was in 2016 I think. Sadly it seems she died on Saturday, after reaching her 19th birthday which is totally amazing considering the prognosis her mum was given. She was able to get to Disneyland so lived life in the fullest way right until the end.

The google search showed that Shelbie has been mentioned all over the world in journals and articles, she really touched the lives of so many.

RIP Shelbie and thoughts and love for her family, who were totally amazing and her voice throughout her whole journey

I also watched this series from the beginning and am so saddened to hear that Shelbie is no longer with us. Condolences to all the family x

Ah I'm sorry to read this, what an incredible family Shelbie was part of. I've followed the series since I was young myself and find it so uplifting, Zoe thank you for the update I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again via my TV screen.

I love this programme and have watched all the episodes. Very sad to hear Shelbie has passed away. It's nice to hear there will be some new episodes though.

It must have only been a few weeks ago I googled the same. She made a lasting impression. Rip

She and mum were an inspiration. I followed this avidly but somehow missed the 2016 update. Doesn’t seem to be available on 4OD. Anyone know where I could watch it?

Oh goodness. I watched that series from the start and was thinking about Shelbie just the other day. Bless her dear heart. Her family’s commitment to her was a total inspiration.

So sorry to read about Shelbie; she did so well and what a phenomenal mum Vicky is.

I live relatively near William's family and often think of him

I was only thinking of her yesterday. No idea why she popped into my head. Such sad news but how incredible she reached 19. Can't believe it's been so long since I watched the programme when she was much younger. RIP Shelbie. Love to her family especially her incredible mum.

Oh that's so sad. I'm another one who's followed since the start. Such an inspiring group of people.
