"And I'm going to bring..."

Currently half way through a 6 hour drive to our holiday destination (DH driving obvs) and we're playing this memory game with DCs (12 and 10). I'm starting to run out of ideas Blush

So far we've had:

Smoked salmon
Pimento olives
Elderflower presse
Tzatziki
Hard boiled quails eggs
English strawberries (natch Grin)
Parma ham
Crushed avocado
A sourdough baguette
Manchego cheese
Sunblush tomatoes
Sparkling water
Handcooked crisps

Help me with more ideas!

Nduja
Moroccan smoked hummus
Mushroom arancini

BlankTimes · 20/04/2019 15:23

Snofrisk cheese

Pea shoots

Myusernameismud · 20/04/2019 15:37

I added these beauties to the list Grin

We've only just stopped playing, it was hilarious and lasted far longer than the usual version. Probably because DH kept adding nonsense like cigarillos, dressed crab and crustless quiche. Just googled to check if there's a waitrose near where we're staying, because obviously I need a real waitrose picnic now.

Thanks for the great suggestions!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 20/04/2019 15:57

But those are violas. Easy to grow, they are edible. You can pick them from your hanging basket etc.

Howyoualldoworkme · 20/04/2019 15:59

Crustless quiche is rather nice

PlatypusPie · 20/04/2019 16:05

We've just been invited around to friends, to eat out in the garden at 7 and, as that will have been where she will have shopped , we will be having a sort of Waitrose picnic because that is a the sort of cold, extended canape food she will have chosen. Hurrah for this faux summer !

Still18atheart · 20/04/2019 16:08

Naice crisps or those crisps which made out of other veg rather than potatoes .
The ingredients to make your own breadsticks
A very nice hamper to put everything in /nice cool bag

Flyinga · 20/04/2019 16:09

What is a Waitrose picnic? A poncy picnic that nobody eats or something?

Myusernameismud · 20/04/2019 16:09

Dobby I know, I have them growing as well as nasturtiums for that exact reason.

But for the purposes of the game, it needs to be food from waitrose for a posh picnic!

We've finished playing now, but I still need ideas for future games. I think Dsis will find this game quite fun Grin

OrangeJuiceandArmchairs · 20/04/2019 17:28

Truffles

OrangeJuiceandArmchairs · 20/04/2019 17:29

youarenotkiddingme · 20/04/2019 17:46

What a great idea for a game!

Never shopped in Waitrose in my life but have loved ready all the poncy picnic food ideas 😂

sar302 · 20/04/2019 17:51

I just tried to fit that title into the same rhythm as "we're going on a bear hunt".... damn toddler...

Myusernameismud · 20/04/2019 19:57

Mrs Elf superb list Grin Any thing that's potentially hard to say/remember or has too many words (baby peppers stuffed with ricotta!) is great because I'm the only one who will remember Wink

orangejuice I'm storing up ideas for next time. Dsis and I are on the gin already (welll we are on holiday) so this game could potentially be played later.

Prawn cocktail with the dressed up posh prawn on the packaging.

Dates.

Kumquats.

MitziTheTabbyIsMyOverlord · 21/04/2019 01:30

Great game!

Not really in the spirit, but I'd add "treading over the lower classes". Hey, it IS Waitrose!

groundcontroltomontydon · 21/04/2019 06:06

G&T in a can
Baba ganoush
Grand mange paysan
Halloumi with mint

Dollywilde · 21/04/2019 06:10

Surely by writing all the previous items down you were cheating, OP Wink
