Do you take the kids to meet the Easter bunny? Or take them to egg hunts?

Our local garden centre do breakfast or tea with the Easter Bunny. Just a meal and then an employee dressed up as the easter bunny leading the kids round a trail. Photo op with the bunny and the kids get a soft toy and egg hunt size egg / small lindt bunny. My DC really like it.

We've done egg hunts a few times but the DC are older now so tomorrow we're walking some alpacas and having lunch at the farm cafe. I don't think I'd take them to meet the Easter Bunny, though, as i've never seen that in real life.

I don't think I have ever seen anywhere you could meet the Easter bunny. Have never taken them to an egg hunt before either, but we are going to one at a NT property tomorrow because we are NT members so it is a free day out that coincidentally happens to have an egg hunt. DH does an egg hunt at home for DC anyway. He sets it up while they are at church with me and claims the Easter bunny came and left a map.

They usually do an egg hunt somewhere, whether we do one at home or church or wherever. But the Easter bunny isn't a thing in our family.

FlowersInMotion · 20/04/2019 13:55

I didn't even know that meeting the Easter Bunny was a thing.

MoreSlidingDoors · 20/04/2019 14:00

WTF? No!

RomanyQueen1 · 20/04/2019 14:02

No, we didn't, i had no idea people did this, along with decorating their homes.

GooodMythicalMorning · 20/04/2019 14:16

No. weve done a couple of egg hunts in the local area but we dont even set them up at home.

Never seen a meet the Easter bunny? Have done lots of NT trails as we are members and have met up with family.

We (unintentionally) met the Easter bunny on a day at an adventure play/farm place today. She did a show with mention of getting all the eggs together and delivering them tonight which I found a bit odd. Our garden centre does a breakfast with the Easter bunny too but we haven't been to that. I didn't really know what to say when DS (4) asked me if the Easter bunny was real earlier (I was vague) as he believes in Father Christmas and I don't want him to start questioning Christmas yet.

TheFaerieQueene · 20/04/2019 19:56

OP, did you see the Easter bunny as a child?
I doubt you did as it wasn’t a thing.
Why do you think it is a thing now?

Hint: a money making scam.

CakeNinja · 20/04/2019 20:00

No but then I don’t bother with the taking them to meet Father Christmas either.
We do an egg hunt at home. Two of mine are teens but the youngest will get them all up in the search of chocolate. He’s nicer than me, I’d use the opportunity to find it all myself while they were still asleep Grin
