I've been off work and the kids off school for 2 weeks back on Tuesday, I feel like I want to do something today but also want to relax for a bit. What is everyone else up to?

We had breakfast with the Easter Bunny this morning. DC and I washed the cars while DH painted the ceilings. DC have had cheese toasties & salad for lunch & are watching a film before I take them to the local park later so DH can do another coat of paint. I want to go for a run later too.

I slept late. The second load of laundry is in the machine (the first one outside). Dough for orange buns is proving in the oven. I've tidied, and there's more to be tidied. No big plans, other than getting all the normal weekly householdy stuff done today. Sitting down with coffee right now. It's lovely outside, so I might go have a poke around in the garden later.

After a fortnight of juggling 2 primary age kids on school hols, a PT job that was so understaffed I've worked way over my days and hours, no childcare, a DH who has been largely absent due to work commitments (and even my cleaner cancelled on me thing week! so extra domestic chores)..... I have escaped!

I've strolled in the sunshine, browsed my favourite shops and I'm currently having a late lunch, on my own, complete with exquisite glass of white wine.

I intend to purchase something overpriced but 'essential' (CK underwear or other designer frippery) then back into the sun for a cheeky drink before I turn into a pumpkin and return to domestic obscurity Smile

I'm in a similar frame of mind. I'm splitting my time between having a house clear out and sitting down to watch more episodes of box sets. Might sit outside later when the sun's lower with a glass of wine.

At the seaside (Worthing). Just had fish n chips. Walked along the shoreline for a mile. About to walk back and I will be getting an icecream from the parlour. A good day.

Park run, gardening, Monopoly. Maybe make an Easter cake later

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 20/04/2019 13:51

We had a fry up and have been to crazy golf with the grandchildren and their parents. Having a bit of a rest, but I expect they’ll want to go and play football soon.

I'm reading "Munich" by Robert Harris, so very little else is being achieved! Brew Cake

Upthepong · 20/04/2019 13:54

Guests left yesterday. Beds changed this morning. Husband off on an overnight jolly (kayaking!) so the kids and I have been out for a long bike ride to a local farm, picnic lunch, messing around in the playground then a long wiggly ride home via the shop for an ice cream. Killed 4 hours! Now I'm bumming about inside and the kids are in the sunshine listening to an audiobook. They are at an age now where they don't need constant watching. It's brilliant!

I dropped dd off this morning she's at a drama thing in Manchester all day I took ds to spoons for breakfast, I've done washing and pegged it out made an Easter cake and started on a trifle, am now sat in the garden chilling, ds is playing on his Xbox which seems like a waste of a beautiful day to me but his dad is also inside watching football, they are both a bit pale and ginger and have declared outside too hot! I'm going to watch dd perform at 7.30 and have arranged to meet a friend for dinner in Manc before I see dd. I always feel like I should be doing something at the weekends, but some times it's nice just to relax.

I hate going places in peak holidays spending all day sat on a car park.
did the garden this week, all washing and house done, so nothing else to do, it's lovely.
lots of barbecues and family visiting.
