Searching for the perfect sun cream

One that isn't sticky, smelly, or full of artificial nasties. And is suitable for children and sensitive skin. Does it exist?? Just been let down by ambre solaire kids...I can still feel it sticking to me now and I've washed my hands twice! Confused

I'd be interested to find the perfect one too. Even ones that claim to be non-sticky and non-greasy leave me feeling oily and sticky, and I'd love to find one that has a neutral or unobtrusive smell - I don't mind the distinctive strong suncream smell when I'm on my holidays on the beach, but not when I'm going about my day to day life. One that applies, soaks in and smells like a normal body lotion would be ideal!

I recently bought the child’s farm for sensitive skin, so far so good.

I use Vichy sun milk

Avene, or Nivea, depending on your budget.

You want to buy ALTRUIST sun cream. Seriously.

PercyGherkin · 19/04/2019 17:30

Are those stain free? I can put up with smell but so fed up of tops being destroyed by yellow stains around the neck.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 19/04/2019 17:35

Boots Soltan Kids seems to tick all those boxes for us. However it does stain white clothing.

Whatthefunk · 19/04/2019 18:07

I use sunsense. Its hypoallergenic, and doesn't really smell. Its great stuff

Nothingfallingdowntoday · 19/04/2019 18:29

Second Altruist. It does everything you’ve asked for and more.

It’s cheap, rubs in nicely and doesn’t discolour clothes. Our dermatologist recommended I try for my daughter as it’s great for sensitive skin.

Malibu Clear All Day Protection - goes on as a spray, not greasy at all. I’ve only seen it physically in Home Bargains, but looks to be available on Amazon.

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 19/04/2019 18:53

Altruist - £7 for on amazon, and no scent at all

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 19/04/2019 18:53
  • £7 for two

I use the Body Shop one and it's amazing, very light, sinks in and I never feel greasy. It's so light it was hard to believe it worked, but I've used it for the last two summers and never burnt.
