Ebay return. Company in China

I bought a jacket thats a terrible fit. I want to return it. Seller emailed saying itll be too expensive to return and offered me £4 refund! And to keep the jacket. I dont want that so told them i want the return address which turns out to be in China. The listing for the jacket says its from London. I would have never bought it if I knew where it was coming from.
Any suggestions on what I can do as I dont want the offer of £4

Did they give measurements? If it's not as described open a case.

Have you tried going through ebay's resolution centre?

Just flog it on again.

How much did you pay for the jacket + postage?

Omzlas · 19/04/2019 16:24

EBay resolution centre and stand your ground. I ordered an item from China and it arrived partly working, they offered a part refund which I declined, I ended up with a full refund. Many sellers want to ensure they receive positive feedback so they tend to back down somewhat

Bloody sellers do this all the time now. I stood my ground b with one a couple of weeks ago. I brought something and it was of terrible quality, so requested a return. Same as you, they offered a small discount. I refused , then they offered fifty percent off , which is still not what I wanted, as the item was unwearable. I request a UK address for return ( in the second message they said I would have to return it to China). No response, so reported to eBay , that their details were incorrect and started s dispute procces and got a full refund.

How much was the jacket - key information

HJWT · 19/04/2019 16:52

Open a return case and they normally fully refund you, if not contact eBay tell them its listed as london, not china and they will refund you...

Plump82 · 19/04/2019 17:06

Jacket wasnt expensive. £16. But i still dont want only £4 back. Apart from the sizing, the quality isnt great but i would have made do if it fit. It does say the measurements but to allow between 1cm and 3cm for manual measurements!

Meant to say, ill see what they say about providing a UK address and if not ill go through the resolution centre.

Does the item match the stated measurements? If so, that might not stack up.

If it's simply that doesn't fit, & the measurements are correct, I'd sell it on.

On the other hand, if it is "not as described" eg wrong measurements, I'd open a case.

Firsttimemummy19 · 19/04/2019 17:28

This annoys me so much, I always filter for Uk sellers only but somehow sellers from China manage to put UK so still come up. It's only when I've bought something I see the PayPal address is Chinese. So blooming annoying!

Plump82 · 19/04/2019 17:34

Honestly the quality of it i couldn't bring myself to sell it on

ebay have just sent sellers notice that item location must be correct so unless personalised you can't have a london address with a delivery slot for 14th May, if it said a London address it needs to be returned there screenshot listing incase they change it back to CHina

are the measurements correct ie did they say 74cm if it's 71-75 ( maybe that's ok as said some discretion but 68 or 78cm is not ok
look at the business address at end of listing to see where it is
if it was marketed as a business sale with UK location they have to accept a return within 14 days for any or indeed no reason ( if you buy a return label from ebay it is about 3,25 tracked)
if you just right click and say I want to return item see what happens

MODGNIK · 19/04/2019 18:00

Go through PayPal. You will get a full refund in the end. Point out that the cost of returning tracked is more than the cost of the refund.

Russell19 · 19/04/2019 19:44

I'd message and say you want a full refund or you'll go through Ebay to get a refund as it wasn't as described x

Answeringonlyyesorno · 19/04/2019 21:18

I had the same with some trainers. I complained to eBay as the listing was UK and they accepted returns on the listing. Due to that I got a full refund and was told to keep the trainers. I gave them to a charity shop.
