Maldives all inclusive for 3or4k, possible?

Have had a really tough few years with my father being ill and going into care. All that going on and leaving emotionally abusive cheating exh.

My divorce should be through by the end of the year/early 2020 and I want to plan a luxury holiday for myself and new partner to celebrate. I'd love to do somewhere like the Maldives where were in a little beach hut right by the sea. All inclusive and private so we can just properly relax for a week.

We can afford 3k maybe 4k at a push. First travel agent I contacted said we'd need at least 5k which we just cant stretch to.

Anyone done a similar holiday for that price range and care to share? Open to suggestions for different destinations and flexible with time of year. All help appreciated Grin

Have you tried looking at sites like Secret Escapes, which do discounted luxury package holidays? Some lovely looking places on there.

I should say that I haven't actually used SE, though - I just like to look and daydream!

I haven't actually. Thanks for the tip.

Absolutely. Pop over to trip advisor and the Maldives forum. Go more out of season, but there are a few resorts well within your budget.

We did :) contact Chris at No News No Shoes for an enquiry. They're a small travel company who we booked our honeymoon with and were fabulous. She's been to so many of the islands herself so knows what to recommend depending on what you want. We went to Reethi Beach as it wasn't mega expensive but still quite small and chilled out. Also heard good things about Oblu.

We had 2 all-inclusive weeks in a water villa at the Chaya Lagoon resort, including flights with Sri Lankan Airlines, and seaplane transfers from Male to Chaya with Tropical Sky for 5.5k for 2 people. This was 3 years ago though. How long are you looking to go for?

thewreckofthehesperus · 19/04/2019 14:53

Just a week. Maybe 10 days with travel etc. Were Irish so ideally travelling from Dublin. I might pop Tropical Sky an email to see what they could do for us. Thanks all Flowers

I'm on hol at the moment in Mauritius with tropical sky, they've been very good and their staff seem to have been to lots of the hotels they cover
I think if you are flexible with budget maybe but it will be tricky (but that's just based on when ive looked at the maldives). Good luck!

Sorry I meant flexible with timings not budget
