RIGHT NOW

I do hope she doesn't decide to pack my new overnight bag Grin

How old is she?

lucysmam · 19/04/2019 12:40

She's 9.

And very tired after a very non-sleeping sleep-over so I'll pop up and suggest maybe pj's and a snooze might be a better idea.

There's lots of huffing going on up there

When I left home at 3 1/2, my mum was impressed that not only did I pack tins, I packed a tin opener as well.
When I was 5, I remembered a map.

lucysmam · 19/04/2019 12:44

Treading I suspect she'll have packed socks, pants, a heck of a lot of small teddy bears and a bath bomb; given the stompy mood she's in. Possibly sunglasses too - she's never seen out and about without them.

I never Left Home but my older sister did and she would always make a big show of tearfully leaving her big dolls to me to look after while she packed her Barbie's and stormed off out the front door.

She would walk round the block and sneak in the back gate ten minutes later Grin.

Muddlingalongalone · 19/04/2019 12:45

My brother used to do this - his dance trophy & a teddy bear were what he put in his bag 😂😂😂

IncrediblySadToo · 19/04/2019 12:45

Pants?

You’ve taught her well!

What crime have you committed?

Hungrymamabear · 19/04/2019 12:45

Gosh when my bro was about 9 (I was 10 and our parents had recently split up) he made it from our house to our dads with his swimming bag packed with clothes and action men. The journey prob took him about 10mins walking and up to 20mins on the bus! My mum didnt believe he was leaving and assumed hed go round to the neighbours who he was friends with!

lucysmam · 19/04/2019 12:48

IncrediblySadToo my crime was asking to check her knees when she fell off her scooter - while sleepover friend was still here

Just be grateful it’s the 21st century. When I was 11 and at boarding school, I was travelling hundreds of miles on trains unaccompanied.
Running away then would probably have involved a different country!

AdaColeman · 19/04/2019 12:50

Oh no!
Have you asked her if she's got a picnic with her?

Remind her that it's her favourite meal for tea!

BlueMerchant · 19/04/2019 12:53

Give her £1 for the bus and wave her offGrin. (I'd love to see her reaction)

Wauden · 19/04/2019 13:01

"Here, lil' lucysmam, don't forget the BearBearBearBearBearBearBearBear" - Mum

Aquamarine1029 · 19/04/2019 13:03

Give her a can of beans for the road.

Aquamarine1029 · 19/04/2019 13:06

When I was 5 I ran away, (all the way to the end of the drive), and the only things I packed was about 10 pairs of knickers.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/04/2019 13:09

I took the rabbit. She pee'd in my bag.

lucysmam · 19/04/2019 13:09

She's put herself to bed for a while...we'll see if she's still going when she gets up!

itsgoodtobehome · 19/04/2019 13:11

When I ran away aged about 5, I took the Argos catalogue with me. Very important obviously!!

DramaAlpaca · 19/04/2019 13:12

DS1 announced he was leaving home in a strop at 9. He was back in time for tea. We all pretended it never happened Grin

Justmuddlingalong · 19/04/2019 13:13

At least she's gave you some warning. I used a dining chair to reach the lock on the front door and just left. I'd packed a clean pair of knickers and my toothbrush in my Sindy vanity case. The police found me about 4 miles away and brought me home. I was about 5 or 6. 😳

Wauden · 19/04/2019 13:18

It's rather sweet Bear

TheZeppo · 19/04/2019 13:23

Grin at taking the rabbit!

DevaDiva · 19/04/2019 13:25

All you need is kit-kats and a fishing net, that'll get you to the end of the road Grin

Wauden · 19/04/2019 13:25

Impressed with those who took a map, clothes, tons and tin opener, as just upped and left. And swiftly returned.

AcrossthePond55 · 19/04/2019 13:32

DS1 was upset when we told him 'no' about some trivial thing. Told us he was going to run away to Gran's house and 'tell on us'. We asked him what Gran would do when he got there and explained what had happened. He paused, stuck his lip out, and said "Probably send me home".
