No junk mail sign

I'm sick of all the junk mail we receive. Has anyone put a sign on their door saying 'no junk mail' and has it worked?

We used to have one from our local authority but it got damaged so I've taken it off. Now looking for a more hardy replacement! It did work a treat and we now get so much crap through the door.

Yes brought one from Amazon for a few quid and noticed a huge difference in what comes through the letter box :)

Whatdidisay · 19/04/2019 09:37

We have one, the postie takes absolutely no notice of it.
Apparently if you haven't registered with the post office to stop junk mail they are not allowed to not deliver it despite the signs!

SpamChaudFroid · 19/04/2019 09:49

No difference sadly. The postie and the leafletters still post unwanted random crap through my door. On a plus, it seems to have stopped the cold callers, (we have a lot of religious people in the town I live in).

It works for me. I get the odd leaflet but not nearly as many as I used to.

KetchupOnRoastDinner · 19/04/2019 10:00

It doesn’t stop everything, but definitely helps, I’ve seen people walking up to stick a flyer through then walking off again.

There is also an opt out service for advertising delivered by Royal Mail which you have to sign up for.

I was also going to suggest registering with the post office. The signs certainly won't do any harm either.

And while I'm here can I just recommend a no cold callers sign that your local police force sometimes produce? I got one and it's amazing. Like chugger kryptonite! I watched gangs of Barnardos or some such charity hasslers going door to door to all the surrounding streets and they never bothered going past mine or my immediate neighbour's gates (who I had given a sign to as well).

Google Royal Mail unaddressed mail opt out.

I did it years ago and only get junk mail if our post woman’s on holiday.

It’s always shite you don’t read anyway or companies you wouldn’t use again.
