Feeling hot - anxiety?

I took DD aged 13 for her CAMHS appointment today after she told me she had been self harming for the past 2 years. She had hidden it well so I had no idea.

One thing that came up is that she feels very hot from inside up to 3 times a day. She is also constantly saying she feels 'worn down'.

The CAMHS psychologist was very good and said she would be sending us a questionnaire to screen for autism (she has issues making and keeping friends) and a referral for counselling.

But, I have wondered if I should have her seen by the GP for a blood test. Does anyone in the know about these things think that could be worth doing? Or would symptoms of feeling hot and worn down be anxiety? I've never had that feeling myself so I don't know what to make of it.

A hot feeling, like you're burning from inside can be an overactive thyroid

I have anxiety and get the hot feeling when it's particularly bad, it's like I'm on fire from the inside out, I can feel it in my bones.

That's what DD says. So, it is most likely to be anxiety. How in earth do I deal with anxiety in a 13 year old? CAMHS have referred DD to a counselling service but it's a 4 month waiting time. Confused I just don't know where this has come from.

I've always been very anxious, but I don't know the hot thing. In terms of dealing with teen anxiety, download the headspace app for her and look into yoga and meditation classes. My friend's DD lost her father a few months ago and has become super anxious and the yoga is really helping her
