Day out in London with DH and 11 year old daughter, recommend me things to do

We've done all the free sightseeing things before so thinking about doing either Madam Tussauds or the Tower of London, are they good?

I have been to Madam Tussauds before (30 years ago) and wasn't very impressed but its probably changed loads since then.

The orbit slide at the Olympic Park is brilliant!

We have merlin passes so tend to go to madam tussauds whenever in London. It gets mad busy tho and I don’t enjoy it as much as the Blackpool one.
I’m going to London with my two girls in Monday and Tuesday and think we are going to try Tower of London. It is 25 years since I last visited and we all love history.

We've been to the Blackpool Madam Tussards so I suppose its all much the same thing isn't it, it seems really expensive for what it is too. I think we might plump for the Tower of London, I remember going when I was a similar age to DD and I loved it.

Whats the Orbit Slide? is it in the centre?

Rib boat on the Thames.......?

ooh, just googled the Orbit Slide, that sounds great, wonder if we could do both in a day.....

I'm not keen on boats so don't think I'd like it.

We did the Tower of London at the weekend, it was brilliant. Lots of varied things to look at, beautiful view across the river and close to nice eateries.

Southbank centre is normally worth a look for kids stuff and you go see the street entertainers too.

Madame Tussaud is shit. Utterly utterly shit.

Orbit sounds good, Tower London also and how about going up the Shard? Or at least up to one of the restaurant. Sky Garden maybe, and walk over tower bridge?
