Apart from having kids or getting married.

Mine was a few years ago seeing a whole field of fireflies in the USA at dusk. The air around me was lit up with their little green lights. It took my breath away and I burst into tears Blush it was so unexpected and so beautiful I don’t think anything else will ever come close.

Would love to hear what others moments are.

Taking a child from being a non-reader to a good reader in the space of a year- the child had had no books at home and no one had had time to hear them read - it felt magic hearing her progress so quickly.
Seeing the Milky Way for the first time.
Going to a massive concert with my teen daughter - so emotional
Swimming in a lake in Germany one very hot summer.

Most timed I step out of the door. I live rurally and am a total sucker for nature.
My son just called me to go outside and look at the moon. It took my breath away.

The blue lagoon in Iceland and New York where we got engaged

We stayed in a hotel in Mexico that was built within the jungle. Lots of wildlife about. The staff told us that there were spider monkeys higher in the trees but they were rarely seen. Was a really difficult holiday that marked the 1 year passing of a sibling and the day before the anniversary a spider monkey holding its baby swans through the canopy right in front of me when I was completely alone.

Then a year later in Jamaica walking along seven mile beach a manta ray Just swam up to where i was standing at the shore, circled and swam away again.

Those moments felt pretty special.

Too many.

Graduation of daughter as a doctor that was culmination of years of hard work.
Sons passing out weekend.
Strangely, sitting with a family as their child died. Huge privilege.
Delivering babies.
Sitting in a thunderstorm eating fish and chips whilst watching a ferocious sea.
Reaching a mountain summit and feeling true awe.
Our foster son being accepted onto a mainstream college course.
The lambs and calves around the house at the moment.
The Northern Lights.
Skinny dipping in remote tarns.
Too many others.

We went on a train journey through Europe for our silver wedding and coming out of the station in Venice with the grand canal right in front of us was just amazing. I'll never forget it.

Sitting on Centre Court watching Roger Federer win ethe seventh and eighth of his Wimbledon titles. Magnificent and a delight for the eyes.

Being at the O2 for the Led Zeppelin reunion concert. Lights going down first bars of the music hitting me.....

I have so many cultural magic moments that have made me feel alive, music, ballet, opera. I feel very fortunate that my parents exposed us to so many opportunities when we were little.

Also remember being 23 and at a Christmas party at No 10 and the Prime Minister walking over to shake hands with me. It was quite magical but also had a what do I say moment. 😱 Having quickly thought about it I came up with where is the cat? 😳 He took it well though laughed and said people are always more interested in the cat than me but the cat hides when people are here.
