I've had a UTI for 11 days now. I unfortunately waited to get antibiotics, as in the past I have sometimes managed to get rid of them myself just by drinking lots of water.
So I got antibiotics (Macrobid, three day course), which made no difference at all. So ended up at OOH doctors where I was prescribed Co-amoxyclav. Started taking them on Sunday and have seen little improvement in my symptoms. (I have found in the past that by three days there is usually an improvement.)
I'm starting to worry as we are away this weekend, and I will have finished the second course of antibiotics by Sunday morning.
So what should I do? Try and get into doctors tomorrow and try and get yet more antibiotics? They might think I am jumping the gun (which I am a bit, but symptoms not improving at all just seems odd.)
I am drinking lots of water. Is there anything else I can do to try and "cure" this if the doctor refuses antibiotics?
