Some people are just bloody rude

On my local FB feeling group I was offering our old sofa bed and 2 seater sofa for free. I said they needed new covers because they've been a bit trashed by muddy dogs/children. Within 5 minutes I'd taken the adverts down because I all I got was shocked/vomiting emojis. If you're not interested in something why make a nasty comment about it?

Show us the sofa

bigchris · 17/04/2019 17:03

It doesn't sound a great ad does it !

JenniferJareau · 17/04/2019 17:04

Surely if that is the reaction you are getting, it might be an indication that they are a tad minging and needed a bit of tlc before photographing them and sharing on a public forum?

It is rude though.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 17/04/2019 17:05

That is rude but i'm dying to see the pics Grin

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/04/2019 17:13

I'm not posting pictures on here for more people to mock. They're obviously in a worse state than I thought but even so, if something is free why be mean about it?

People are mean because a) they can hide behind anonymity online (you can guarantee the vast majority of these people would never say something like this to your face). And b) they've got too much time on their and need to get a life.

ScreamingValenta · 17/04/2019 17:25

I agree with you. They were free and you'd acknowledged they'd need new covers. These people are rude and have too much time on their hands.

Farmerswifey12 · 17/04/2019 17:27

OP totally rude, you were trying to do someone a good turn and give them for free!

Nicknacky · 17/04/2019 17:37

Some people do put up some minging furniture under the guise of “do someone a turn”.

It just comes across that they can’t be bothered taking them to the dump.

MrsS92 · 17/04/2019 17:42

Maybe if it was really really bad people thought it was a joke post ?
Or sometimes when I see really trashed things for free I do think that maybe people are just trying to get out of disposing of it! Like the absolutely grotty used car seats like this.

Some people are just bloody rude

I'm sure you can imagine there is a sliding scale from -

Asking who wants your rotten, moulding, Vans shoes that are torn apart at the seams, or offering a free brand new never used sofa bed complete with pristine mattress.

At some point you can imagine people responding ewww at something really grotty- and clearly your sofa was a bit further along the sliding scale than you thought. Its personal to you, it was in your home. You know it's condition is reasonable but grubby. Obviously in the pictures to an unbiased eye it looked a bit worse than you thought.

Dont worry. Get your council to take it away.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/04/2019 19:02

I have already arranged for the council to pick it up. It just seems a shame for it to go to the tip.

A dog rescue centre would love it.

CherryPlum · 17/04/2019 19:19

Ewww though, stinky dogs on furniture is a bit gross
