What clothes do you wear in warm weather for day trips?

Jeans, a t-shirt and a zipped cardigan.

Pretty much what I wear all year round.

Shopperami · 17/04/2019 16:36

I normally wear jeans too but I can become really warm.

I don’t know what to wear instead of them.

I do linen trousers or long skirt instead of jeans.

DerbyRacer · 17/04/2019 16:40

I have bought linen trousers to try this year. Usually I wear jeans but was too hot in them last year.

Shopperami · 17/04/2019 16:52

Only thing is I wear trainers a lot and linen trousers wouldn’t look right with it ?

Leggings?

TapasForTwo · 17/04/2019 17:03

How warm is warm?

Up to 21 degrees jeans or ankle grazers, trainers/Sketchers
21 -23 degrees linen trousers, sandals/Sketchers
Over 24 degrees summer dress, sandals

Delatron · 17/04/2019 17:04

Today I’ve got cotton (lycocel?) cargo trousers on. So lighter and loser than Jeans but casual and go well with pumps/trainers.

adaline · 17/04/2019 17:05

Cropped jeans (not capri length but just cropped an inch or two above the ankle)
A loose-fitting t-shirt or floaty top.

Or a maxi dress/skirt with a tee/cami.

fussychica · 17/04/2019 17:06

Jeans or chinos depending on how warm it is, short or long sleeved T (likewise), trainers and a lightweight jacket or zippered weird fish type cardi, if required.

teyem · 17/04/2019 17:09

You'd probably get completely different answers on the style and beauty board but I like wide linen trousers.

Parker231 · 17/04/2019 17:11

Usually jeans and trainers with a long sleeved T-shirt. It’s too warm for that, shorts and short sleeved T-shirt with flip flops.

babysharkah · 17/04/2019 17:22

Chinos or if it's actually hot shorts or a dress

Shopperami · 17/04/2019 17:44

Thanks all. What do you wear with your chinos?

managedmis · 17/04/2019 17:46

Jeans, top, cardy /hoodie and a light weight waterproof coat.

Usually wear boots and fling a pair of birkenstocks in the boot for the chance it's sunny.

Brolly, picnic, done.

francienolan · 17/04/2019 22:12

I find dresses more comfortable than trousers (And more flattering on my body type) so I have lots of them. In this kind of weather I would wear one of my knit dresses with sleeves, plus a pair of flats or trainers depending on the type of walking around (I am very picky about flats and only buy ones I can walk a lot in). Sometimes I put a cardigan on over, but in this weather I don't really need one (nor tights).

TapasForTwo · 17/04/2019 22:32

It must be pretty warm where you are francienolan. It is still jeans and jumper weather where we live.

lljkk · 17/04/2019 22:34

T-shirt or tank top.
Shorts. Capri trousers. Doesn't seem like a difficult thing to solve, tbh.

mathanxiety · 17/04/2019 23:06

Depends where I'm going.

I like to wear black trews/cigarette pants if I'm in a city, visiting museums, cathedrals, etc.
us.asos.com/asos-design/asos-tailored-linen-cigarette-pants/prd/8979501?channelref=product+search&mk=abc&currencyid=2&ppcadref=753857711%7C53430038570%7Cpla-577716784949%26browseCountry%3DUS&affid=14174&channelref=product+search&mk=abc&ppcadref=753857711%7C53430038570%7Cpla-577716784949&_cclid=Google_EAIaIQobChMI-uDB343Y4QIVDtvACh2L0Q4gEAQYAiABEgIo8vD_BwE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-uDB343Y4QIVDtvACh2L0Q4gEAQYAiABEgIo8vD_BwE

Either that style or high waist, wide leg, tailored, loose leg trews in black linen.

With either of the black trews, a grey or white t-shirt and a white cardigan or light blue denim jacket.

If on a picnic or somewhere less dressy then jeans folded up a bit, denim capris or denim shorts, or chinos folded up a bit or chino shorts. Black t-shirt with these shorts/capris/chinos. White or black cardigan.

Colourful cotton scarf with any summer outfit, sometimes stashed in my bag..

I would wear sneakers with any of those items.

When the weather gets really hot here (over 27c and very humid) I wear decent looking chino shorts in the city with a black t-shirt or some good looking colourful top. I would always bring a white or black cardigan as AC indoors can chill, and a cotton scarf.

KurriKurri · 17/04/2019 23:14

Shorts, a loose cotton sleeveless top (not as clingy as a t shirt) sandals, and take a cardi in case it gets breezy.
When I lived in a hot country I lived in loose fitting sleeveless cotton dresses and flip flops

MinnieMountain · 18/04/2019 06:18

Dresses. I've got some Patagonia ones which are great to throw on.

OutdoorApathy · 18/04/2019 06:30

Depends where we're going.
If it's likely that we'll meet no one I know, or the forest, then I wear hiking clothes.

If it's somewhere a bit more civilised, then up to 22 I'd wear jeans and trainers, t-shirt jumper and a jacket.
22-25, linen trousers, either trainers or possible hiking sandals, t-shirt, take a jumper and a wind proof jacket.
25+ I'd wear either knee length trousers (not sure what they're called) or linen trousers, t-shirt thin jumper and wind proof jacket. Trainers or hiking sandals.

I don't do uncomfy, pretty footwear. It has to be comfortable and allow me to run after DC. If it's summer and we're going near water, it has to be something that can go in the water.
