Can I ask a pcos question please?

If you have no periods because of pcos, what's the longest you've spotted for?
And what is the reason for the spotting, is it like a sink that's filled right up, so eventually starts to overflow iyswim?
TIA.

Ah sorry that's a question I can't answer because my PCOS means I have ALL the periods....

MadCatEnthusiast · 17/04/2019 16:32

Only a couple of days but it’s very light. I’ve not had natural periods in a very long time now though

Thanks for answering.
I can have no period for months, then just spotting, but this has been going on for a few weeks now.

I’ve had some weird spotting on and off for about 6 weeks, I’m awaiting a scan as it’s not normal ‘for me’. I was expecting a period as I have been cramping on and off since the middle of Jan but nothing, I don’t think I’ve had a period since about July/August.
Perhaps go and speak to your gp and request one?

Loopylou6 · 17/04/2019 20:05

Do you have pcos @CakeNinja

Yes! Would be a bit concerning if I didn’t Grin
Sorry, I didn’t make it clear in my first post.

I have PCOS and am reluctantly on the pill for it. Still get regular spotting throughout the month every month though, in the middle of the 'cycle' - it lasts 3 or 4 days and is very light, the sort of thing you only notice when you wipe if that makes sense but is definitely there. Accompanied by cramps etc.
Have had all the relevant scans and smear etc and other than persistent ovarian cysts there is allegedly no cause for concern so I've been told it's one of those things and to return to GP if there is a change or the pain becomes more severe etc.

I have PCOS. Barely have any periods. I mostly spot on the implant (so it might be that rather than the PCOS). Very little but I've had it for up to two weeks. Decide it's done as toilet paper clean or barely a drop to find blood in my pants later. Frustrating as fuck...

Unfortunately I have the opposite problem with PCOS and bleed very heavily for very long amounts of time. I hope that you can get some help that you are after though. PCOS sucks!

Loopylou6 · 18/04/2019 19:11

Thank you everyone, yes, it's very frustrating, I'm not even officially diagnosed, I need to pluck up the courage to go doc's, been going on for YEARS now
