I have a phobia of vomit too op, nowhere near as bad as it used to be but I still get the panics when DS voms.
Try and stay with DD when she’s sick but turn your head away so you can’t see and rub her back, smear a little bit of Vick under your nose so that the smell doesn’t turn your stomach. Possibly wrap a T towel around your nose/mouth to prevent any germs getting in your system. Find a large bowl and line it with a carrier bag, easy to dispose of and you don’t have to see the contents. Keep DD in one room. Don’t let her see your fear as she could easily become phobic herself (thanks to my DM I was severely phobic in my teens and 20’s)
Praise her after she has been sick and tell her she will feel better soon.
If your brain can’t shut down try playing a silly online game on your device, very distracting and calms your nerves.
I’m thinking of you, it will soon pass.
Clean everything possible with diluted bleach, nothing else apart from a cleaner called Sterizar kills stomach bugs in surfaces.

There's no way I can be in the room or near it when she vomits. I literally bolt away, shaking and crying. I have to stuff my fingers in my ears, wait and then call out to see if she's finished. I have no problem with clearing sick though.

I feel ridiculous. I'm 37 years old and I've had this phobia all of my life.

I do make fun of myself though and say "Mummy's being ridiculous" so they're very laid back and usually more concerned about me than themselves. I do try and make it a big joke though.

I've had nausea and diarrhea for the last 8 days so far so also not having a good day (or week!)

Lottaberry · 17/04/2019 17:40

I wonder if something's going around? Doesn't seem to be a common time of the year for a big outbreak I don't think.

FrancesFryer · 17/04/2019 17:40

Yes, we found out today DD has had a miscarriage. Fairly shit

bigchris · 17/04/2019 17:43
