I am feeling a bit down and thinking of going away for a few days on my own. Can anyone suggest somewhere that isn't too far away - am midlands based.

What sort of place are you looking for? City, rural, seaside? Lots to do or peace and quiet?

Pamelaaa · 17/04/2019 14:58

City or seaside. Things to do during day time would be good although happy to just be quiet.

What country?

Liverpool, lots of art galleries/museums, you could have a trip on the river, a wide range of hotels/prices, and plenty of restaurants.

Norwich/Norfolk

Look for cottages near Carsington Water - I recently stayed in a tiny 1 bed self catering cottage which had a pool in the complex (4 cottages in total) plus horse riding and plenty of walking nearby, a pub if required, actual carsington water if you need some company, bird watching, Ashbourne town centre 20 minutes away or you can just hunker down and watch dvds with a bottle of wine and some nice nibbles for a few days...perfect.

Be kind to yourself xx

Thanks some useful suggestions. Will have a look at Liverpool and Derbyshire. Had wondered about Paris.
