Help me buy a tablet. I don't know where to start.

I've never owned a tablet but since returning to work after mat leave I need something that uses Word/Excel and internet. The odd app would be useful I suppose too. I don't want to spend a fortune.

I'm tempted to just buy second hand but don't know what to look for.

Any recommendations?

i would have a look at the Nokia Lumia 2520. it comes with all the basic microsfot apps already downloaded (word, excel etc).

If you’re wanting to use word and excel wouldn’t a laptop be a better option?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A. I love it. Easy to use and I have word and excel on it. I watch Netflix and use emails and internet on it. It is probably the hardest worked device on my house and is as good as new at 3 years old. ❤ my tablet.

I've just been looking online and see that there's actually a Word app for iPhone 🤦‍♀️
I'm so not with the times.

Dangermouse it's only to do invoices on mainly. Not writing a novel or anything. I do have a laptop but would prefer something to just fit in my handbag- tablets seem much 'neater' and easier/less heavy to carry. From what I've seen anyway.
