Date ideas that are not too expensive

So after watching 7 year itch I think me and dh should have more time together just us

So looking for ideas of things to go that are not too expensive

For ex skating
Bowling
Picnic
Cinema
Meal out

But looking for other ideas

Free museum/art gallery

Country pub and walk. Find your local bluebells!

On a mild night, stargazing. Go somewhere rural away from too much light pollution on a clear night with a blanket and a big thermos of hot chocolate and look at the night sky.
Daytime ideas - walk round local botanical gardens or arboretum or along the beach if you're near the coast.

HhM good ideas

We do not have money to go out at night every week, but we often go for a short walk/breakfast in a cosy place while the teens are asleep. We try a different place each week and are back with lunch for them by 10:30.

There are lots of 'things to do' on groupon cheaply:

Afternoon tea
Alpaca trekking
Go karting

Swimming.
Day at the beach.
Pottery painting.
fish and chips in the car somewhere with a nice view.
Go to a local talk - our library have lots.
Look for a local conservation project - last year, I saw one group looking for volunteers to clear a local pond.
Barn dance.
Pub quiz.
Lower league football match, or county cricket, isn't usually that expensive.
Cook a fancy dinner, at home, together.
Open air theatre, in the summer.
Go to see a comedian "live".
Badminton at sports centre.
Squash at sports centre.

I was looking to see if anyone had suggested a bag of chips at a bus stop .
I used to love walks along the canal and a pub along the way.

Comedy show
Open air cinema - could you make one at home? Sheet/borrow a projector?
Find local brown signs and explore
Sign up to learn something new - e.g I really want to do a local blacksmithing day
Air b n' b also do 'experiences'

Walking
Getting a nice coffee somewhere
Cheap cinema tickets (Vue are all £5 now)
Free museums
Buying a few cans of gin in a tin and sitting in a nice park
Whack on your favourite film with an m&s meal deal

BBQ! Choose the food together, then build the coals etc together. Sit outside with a drink and a chat, poking the coals and eating outside. bBQs always feel like a treat to me!

OH and I are v fortunate to live in a place where we're right on the coast.

Coastal walks.

Beach days.
We got a book - Secret Beaches. Its fab. We have quite a few beaches to ourselves.

Museums.

Picnics - definitely.

Campervan days - we borrowed his parents campervan which was fun. We actually did a weekend on a camper van site and it was pretty cheap. Electric pitch up was like £10 a day. Super.

National Trust sites?

Movie nights in - if not cinema, get a blu ray, some nibbles and snuggle down together.

Things my dh and I enjoy.
Romantic walks, be it the beach, canal side or forest.
Art gallery.
Just go to a nice wine bar, drinks and chat.
Any lovely historic places near you, Bath, York Minster etc?
Tea rooms.
Does your oh have any hobbies you could plan a day around? (I’ve booked a weekend at an air show for myself and dh as he used to like them in his youth. No appeal to me, but he was made up)
Blackberrying in late summer.
A walk around lake Vyrnwy in Wales, followed by drinks in the hotel overlooking the lake.
Go to the theatre.
Cocktail masterclass.
Cinema. (Our cinema has sofa seats on the back row)
Could you book a mini break? They don’t have to be expensive and are a great way to reconnect and recharge.
Couples massage.
A day at the races (not cheap, but great fun)
A night at the opera, a first for us both and we loved it. (Totally doable on a budget if you’re savvy)
A night at the ballet. (Same as above)
If you live near Eurostar, a surprise daytrip to France.
Whiskey tasting or a wine tasting event.
BBC good food show or a foodie festival.
Escape the room (there are lots of them about nowadays)

For overnight getaways, if you are going as a couple you can get some great deals on a one or two night stay if you are not looking for school holiday times, we stayed in Dublin, Devon, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bath, Wales etc, all at bargain prices in January or November etc.

It’s lively that you want to maintain the romance, so don’t forget a trip to Anne Summers or the like for some Nice lingerie too. (My dh likes Agent provocateur but that’s definitely not cheap)
