PPI reclaiming- which company to use?

Hi. I checked money saving expert and found you can do it yourself so i wrote to my bank. Got a reply, ages ago, to the effect of something that I couldn't answer. No idea where I've put the letter. It put me off doing it myself so I'm just going to use a third party. I'd thought about saving myself the commission but now realise life is too short and it's money I don't have already anyway so anything is a bonus.

Does anyone have a decent company to suggest?

All PPI claim companies do is search your credit history, send you pre-printed questionnaires to fill in, and then take 35% of the proceeds. Half our claims were rejected anyway.

Oh!! 35%?? Crikey.

Don't use The Claims Guys..they practically hound you to death

I did it myself and used Resolver.

I have worked in the PPI world and always advise people against using a CMC (Claims Management Company). They are just not worth the money, and only do what you can do yourself if you are prepared to put a bit of work in. Resolver is where I would start if I was going to make a claim.

My experience of CMCs is that they are not working for you as an individual, but are putting in many claims at once, and often use the same complaint for all of their customers, which undermines all of them (eg saying "I was missold the policy because at the time I was self-employed" when the person clearly wasn't).

So to sum up - don't use them!

We used Reclaim PPI . They were fast and efficient and only charge 10% .
Everything is done online . They also found some for my daughter after she'd already tried and failed.

Don't use a company. Just answer the questions honestly that the bank ask. I wrote one letter and we are getting £1200 back. I didn't know any account numbers or dates.
