I’ve just dug up someone’s wedding ring in the garden!

I don’t think it’s particularly old, I’ve lived here for 10 years.

Previous owner died. Not sure what to do with it! It’s huge on me and not my style at all!

Charity shop? It doesn’t have any hallmarks so I’m not sure it’s particularly worth much

If no hallmark it won't be gold, I don't think. Even if very polished with use.

HennyPennyHorror · 17/04/2019 11:43

Dig in the same spot....might be a treasure trove!

Lweji · 17/04/2019 11:45

I don't think you need to be digging for bones, though. I'd expect the ring to be attached to one if that had been the case. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/04/2019 11:45

Send it to me, I’ve got —fat— huge fingers.

Lexilooo · 17/04/2019 11:47

Try posting it on the Lostbox facebook page and your local spotted page, someone might be very upset about losing that.

TinselAngel · 17/04/2019 11:48

Could it be a scarf ring?

HoraceCope · 17/04/2019 11:51

scarf ring would make sense

LoadOfUtterBoswellocks · 17/04/2019 11:55

GOT to be a cross-dressing farmer who bumped off his giant wife. Stands to reason Grin

CloudPop · 17/04/2019 11:55

How intriguing though !

HennyPennyHorror · 17/04/2019 11:56

Ah yes...not all scarf rings have the clip part...

DramaAlpaca · 17/04/2019 11:59

Oh, I'm so disappointed. I was hoping you'd found DH's wedding ring which he lost in the garden back in 1990 after putting in plants. We dug them all up again but it never turned up & he had to get another one. But that one's too sparkly for DH, unfortunately Grin

Nice nails misses point

Foundring · 17/04/2019 12:06

Gold plated junk 🤷‍♀️

Jeweller was at great pains to explain many women would fit this size ring and that in all likelyhood, it didn’t belong to a giant

Is this the reclusive bit of a bastard cross dressing giant wife murdering farmer with erm..a huge ring (tmi Blush ) who was found dead in front of the Rayburn after four days thread?

We need DCI Barnaby....

gilchrist168 · 17/04/2019 12:10

chiz... missed update... crest fallen

HoraceCope · 17/04/2019 12:11

i think jeweller is wrong!

HoraceCope · 17/04/2019 12:12

now keep digging op, see what else you turn up

Lweji · 17/04/2019 12:13

Really? You asked him? Grin

Cookiedoughforbreakfast · 17/04/2019 12:28

You should put it in the fire and see if this appears...

" Ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul "

Foundring · 17/04/2019 12:49

Jeweller was a woman! She didn’t know if it was gold or not as no hallmark so did an acid test, she scraped it and said “no it’s silver”

I remarked on how big it was

OP posts:
HoraceCope · 17/04/2019 13:00

Where is it now?

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 17/04/2019 13:01

Its very big .. I like it , very pretty and unusual .

Drogosnextwife · 17/04/2019 13:17

Take it to the police station. Then it's all above board.

Why, who on earth is going to be going to the police station looking for that ring if the OP has lived there for 10 years? Do you think the police will try and track down the owner and why does it need to be above board? The op didn't steal the ring!

Persimmonn · 17/04/2019 13:31

Police are always the first point of call on MN 😂

Shame it wasn’t worth anything :(

FiremanKing · 17/04/2019 14:00

Did she tell you the actual ring size as even quite large women I’ve known have had quite small fingers.

Maybe it’s the photo but it looks ginormous.

I’m an L on my wedding finger and an N or an O on my middle finger and have average sized hands.

That looks like it’s a Z!
