Hello, I am looking for recommendations for a girls holiday to celebrate us turning 40. Possibly a villa or apartments. Something that allows more than 2 per room iyswim. There are 8 of us and is only for 4 nights so not to far. Thinking Spain or similar.. has anyone been anywhere lovely/ similar? Swimming pool essential. Thank you

If you found somewhere with 2 bedroom apartments, you would only need 2 of them for your whole party.

Yes thank you, looking for specific recommendations

I can’t recommend specific accommodation but we had a great girls weekend in Malaga. Super short transfer, lots of places to eat and drink, pretty streets, beach pretty close, some fabulous rooftop bars with pools... a bit of shopping but not amazing, nice cathedral...
perfect short trip imo

marmiteontoastplz · 17/04/2019 06:25

Ibiza is lovely, not just the nightclubs side of it and there are lots of lovely villas online, including Airbnb.

There are beach clubs where you can hire hire cabanas and pay for all day brunch and drinks. I was concerned they would be full of TOWIE types, but there was a real mix of people, including some families.

There are beautiful restaurants in the old town and beachfront bars to watch the sunset with a good few cocktails.

We stayed in Santa Eulalia and got taxis to Ibiza town and Ibiza old town, but that was just the 2 of us

I second Malaga, had a great weekend there.

And ignore the miserable, pointless comments on here. Some people are just twats.

Try Estapona. I know you said appts but there's an H20 there which sleeps 3 to a room. Great spa, on beach and near market.

I went to Mykonos for my 40th for 8 days but appreciate that's a bit far for four days... been to Ibiza 3 times & it's lovely I really recommend it! You don't have to go clubbing it's a very relaxed chilled out Island & very beautiful.

A friend went to Puerto Banus / Marbella for her 33rd birthday & had a great time.

Ps I often go away with my sister, still call it a girl's holiday!

Hope you have an amazing break wherever you go!

Well if my nan can class her self as a an old girl at nearly 100 then I don't see the problem with this group of relatively spring chickens calling them selves that!

Thank you everyone for the great suggestions!! Will definitely consider Ibiza, love the sound of hiring cabanas

Went to Marbella last year for 40th, was great. Ibiza this year for friend's 40th. Very exciting!

Following. Sorry to jump on the thread but what companies/websites do people use to book holidays like this? I never have, anything like this so am clueless. I would also like to plan a girls’ Grin weekend now my kids are old enough to let me.

RainbowMum11 · 19/04/2019 22:33

Ownersdirect was good, think it's changed it's name now though, or Airbnb is good to find villas too.
Or google, and the usual booking sites - loads of choice nowadays to search for this kind of holiday!

KavvLar · 19/04/2019 22:36

Majorca was very nice for this type of holiday and not a long flight either.

Most people that I know book things separately.
My friends use Trivago or booking.com for accomadation and more increasing AirB&B and skyscanner for best flight options.

Thanks!

What about a gin making holiday in France near Cognac? It's an old farmhouse with a distillery, big pool and and 4 en-suite double rooms? Enormous kitchen for partying/cooking/eating. Not much nightlife though, more chilling out & trips to Bordeaux, Cognac, beach.....

Flatwhite32 · 20/04/2019 09:23

Palma in Majorca is lovely! Very safe, great bars and restaurants, lovely beach and easy to get to!

marmiteontoastplz · 21/04/2019 19:15

That sounds really lovely knees. Do you have more info?

I stayed here. It was bliss. With 8 of you you would basically have the place to yourselves.

15 mins walk into the town or medieval city with restaurants & bars galore and stunning scenery.
