Which vacuum cleaner do you own and would you recommend it? I have a big old Dyson which seems too heavy and can scratch the floor and a little hand held Dyson that just cant cope with the -fucking- vast amount of hair.

A Henry hoover which is fine with the brushes down. I'm hankering after a shark cordless though, they're supposed to be great for hard floors and pets.

Miele Cat and Dog. Not cheap but worth it.

Nilfisk, which is normally used in hotels etc. Makes a Dyson look asthmatic. Very expensive new but I got mine second hand for £50.

I loved my Henry before we got a dog, it's useless now. I want a shark pet Hoover, everyone says they are amazing

I love my Shark but I bought a stick hoover by accident ( ong story) and it's brilliant on wood and tiled floors. Was only about £70.
