Chicken salad sandwich. Must have mayonnaise, essential for a successful chicken salad sandwich.

With chips, from the chippy, or homemade, & salad.

Boil noodles, and chopped chicken and sachet of some sort of stir fry sauce.

More complicated....add veg.

It's usually curry in our house, bulked our with potato chunks (very yummy) but even adding it to a tin of tomatoes and some mixed herbs makes a great pasta meal. Alternatively it's good for adding (just to warm it through) at the end of a risotto, my version is bacon bits, red onion, mushrooms, sweet peppers, chicken stock cube, arborio rice and water until the rice has soaked up the liquid (you can also add peas, sweat corn, chorizo).

Chicken noodle soup. Boil up some chicken stock, add sliced carrots and mushrooms, add chopped cooked chicken, add crushed garlic, ginger and soy sauce. Add noodles and sweetcorn. Delicious!

ZenNudist · 16/04/2019 16:56

Cook some rice. Scramble an egg. Then fry chicken and rice with soy sauce. Throw in frozen peas if you like. Egg added towards end of frying. Chicken and egg fried rice.

Flowers for you. I am sorry for your loss.

Pasta/spaghetti.

Sauce made while the pasta with passata or tinned tomatoes, fried onion, courgette, tomato puree, bit of broccoli if wanted.

Stick sauce on pasta. Chop up chicken and add cold onto the top. Real comfort food. 12 minutes to cook from start to finish.

It's good to have one hot thing, so could quarter potatoes and bake with olive oil and seasoning. Then eat with cold chicken and simple salad.

FogCutter · 16/04/2019 18:12

Mix some curry powder, mayo and natural yoghurt together and add the chopped up chicken to make coronation chicken.

I have it in a wrap or jacket potato.
