I live in housing association house and been having issues with slugs in kitchen even found them in my cutlery draw Shock they seem to come from around sink area so pulled out washing machine to see what's going on and found that it all seems to be totally unfinished between the floor and the wall except in areas on shoe where skirting is, could these gaps possibly be where they are coming in? And should the walls behind your units be unfinished like that?

Obviously glad I pulled them out as the need a good clean to Shock

Slugs will find a way in no matter what you do.

I live in an older council house and mine are the same. I'm fairly sure my non council rented house, 1940s semi, was the same.

We've had problems with slugs in the past coming under the back door. We put a line of salt along which stopped them coming in. They can squeeze through the smallest of gaps.

In my mums Victorian terrace they used to live under the floorboards. One even got itself frazzled on a circuit box and blew the whole houses electrics.

House is only 8 years old, just seems strange that they have good inch gap all round

I would fill them up with some £1 builders caulk from b&q/wilko if you're allowed.
