Please can someone help me identify this spider which was in my porch - it is on a down pipe if that helps give an idea of its size Confused

Thank you

short front legs could mean a funnel spider, but they are rarely fully out.

maybe you will find her (most probably a pregnant spider) here: metro.co.uk/2016/09/06/uk-spider-identification-17-common-british-spiders-you-might-find-this-autumn-6110982/

AAAAAAAA! Holy mother of god I thought it was a crab I meant to click the thread underneath sorry not good with them.
But I'm fairly sure that's the 'Scary lock all the doors and windows die bastard die' type
I cant see the colour properly it doesn't look like a fen raft and thats the biggest one I know. Do neighbours keep them?

fblake · 16/04/2019 13:17

Thanks both - it is a kind of brown colour. I've been out for about 2 hours and it is still there! 😱 took a side photo too if that helps? Neighbour doesn't keep spiders. I live in East Sussex and know there are false widows here - could it be one of those?

@greenelephantscarf thanks for the link - I think it is a cave spider 😊 x

Looks more like the Black Lace Weaver Spider on that link with its short front legs?

fblake · 16/04/2019 16:37

They look the same! 😮 without giving it a poke so it stretches out its legs I don't think I can tell 😕 x
