Suspicious mole doctor or a and e or out of hours doc? On holiday...

DH has 3 suspicious moles on back. I'm no expert but when should he get them checked... we are on holiday abroad and back good Friday. Wait till Tuesday and get emergency doc appt or go to a and e on return? He may have had them for a while how urgent is it?

He doesn't ever get his shirt off and I've never even seen him with a tan.

Doctors appointment all the way. A&e will tell you the same.

LittleChristmasMouse · 16/04/2019 08:50

A and E will not do anything. You need to see your GP. Can you not ring or book an appointment on line now for next week?

If your surgery is anything like mine, Tuesday will be very busy because of the surgery having been closed for 4 days.

I presume he isn't unwell at all? If that's the case then definitely GP when you're back.

Gp when you get back.

MummaGiles · 16/04/2019 08:52

Can’t you call your GP now to schedule an appointment for when you’re back? It may not be on Tuesday but it’s likely to fall in next week.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/04/2019 08:53

Doctor’s appointment. I’ve had melanoma, and interestingly, the mole that caused my doctor to refer me wasn’t the melanoma. The melanoma was the small freckle on my back.

negomi90 · 16/04/2019 08:54

Gp appointment. A&E and out of hours doctors won't be able to refer to dermatology outpatients which is what you need (only your gp can do that).

Dermymc · 16/04/2019 09:07

The clue is in the title of A&E. This is neither an accident or emergency.

GP appointment on your return.

Villanellesproudmum · 16/04/2019 09:25

A&E!? Don’t be daft. GP appointment.

Nicknacky · 16/04/2019 09:27

Why are you considering A&E?

I only clicked on this thread to find out what a suspicious mole doctor was!

Suspicious moles can be a worry, but this is not an emergency so it’s best to wait until you get back and see your GP.

greenelephantscarf · 16/04/2019 09:37

yes, gp once back.
or if you can afford it a private mole clinic once back at home.
