Dying to tell somebody...

DP and I have finally settled on a wedding that we are both very excited about but have to wait until we get things in stone until I can tell anyone and I am dying to share!

We got caught up in the whole post engagement whirlwind of going to wedding fairs, creating a guest list of close family and friends (got to 80 with just the closest of family and friends of many years) but both got really jaded and overwhelmed with it and DP wasnt happy as he really doesn't want a lot of attention. Also to top it off I am a HCP working long hours, dealing with really awful things and I just can't get excited about chair covers and the shades of envelope for invitations.

When we first got engaged the first thing we looked at was a highland lochside hotel that we stayed at on a very special holiday thay we did together. You could either go for a smallish wedding (30 guests) or a huge marquee one- neither of which were suited to us and we didnt want to drag everyone up to the highlands so we sadly moved on.

We've now realised that we just want to be married ASAP and are going to book an elopement package at the venue! 10 guests max- enough for parents and siblings only. There will be no pressure on anyone to come. We will be booking kayaking the next day for anyone who wants to join and will do a party in our home city a few months later for friends and extended family.

We are SO excited! We just hope our families feel the same way as we do.

Thank you! We were talking over the weekend and realised that neither of us are getting younger (DP is 37 this year) and are keen to not wait any longer to start a family. (Not saying you have to be married to have a family, its been my job that has been keeping us in limbo).

And my best friend told me today she is having IVF so keeping everything crossed for her that it works!
