Anyone else waiting to hear about primary school admissions tomorrow?

This may just be our LA, but we are hearing about primary placements for our 4yo DD at midnight tonight.

Stupidly nervous! Anyone else?

I’d forgotten 🙈....2nd DC so a bit different this time. Now checking when ours are announced.

I didn’t get 1st choice for DC1 3 years ago but it’s all worked out fine.

I am checking email every 4 mins. Feels like a big deal as she's our first!

It says online we will find out tomorrow, don't know why I thought that would mean tomorrows office hours 🙈 looks like im staying awake. 🤞You all get your first choice.

Yes. And I feel sick. I don't think I have ever felt like this. I am also crazy emotional about the fact that my eldest baby has to go to school and will be in the big wide world so much without me. She does 2 days at pre school now but this milestone has made me accept how she is growing up.

Yes. Where we are you move to Middle School forY6-Y8. It’s a primary school application for Y6 entry.

Yes, our local website says we will hear on the 16th but it doesn't say what time. I just reviewed our application and it seems I swapped what I thought was our 2nd and 3rd choice! So if we don't get our first choice I will be very annoyed with myself. Must have had my reasons at the time but buggered if I can remember them now.

Hey all. Hope you get good news. Ours was on the online portal about 11.50 and we have our first choice. I hope everyone is happy with what they hear.

@somewhereovertherainbowwayuphigh if you applied for your child's place online you can check the online portal on your local authority website

First choice but nothing online about accepting only declining so will read it properly in the morning.

You don't always have to accept. In our area acceptance is assumed you only do something if you want to decline.

Now cannot remember log in info to go in and accept, but we have till May to do that.

The email came thru at 1am so glad I didn't stay up to wait in the end!

This is always do strange to me. I Scotland you always go to your catchment school. I have never known anyone not get a place there. You do have even apply for schools you just go and register at your catchment school. If you don’t want to go to that school for whatever reason you then have to apply.

So what happens if you didn’t get your first choice? It’s a good school, just not the one we wanted. Do you accept it and then ask to go in the waiting list for your first choice?

Big thread on Primary as well about this - we were waiting on junior school transfer and out of catchment so always a bit dicey we would get it - but we got our first choice
