Does blowing your nose help?

Poor DH has man flu!! he is feeling as weak as a kitten.

He is snorting left right and centre.

He REFUSES to blow his nose, says he can't do it and doesn't like it.

The problem is that he spends his whole day sniffing and snorting, surely by not blowing your nose the cold will take longer to clear. And he wanders why it often goes to his chest.

apparently it doesn't help. it could even push 'stuff' up the many little channels between nose and ear.
but I'm with you, I would be sooo annoyed by the constant sniffling.
sounds disgusting.

He can’t blow his nose?!
If I don’t blow my nose the snot will revisit me later and I find coughing it up much worse than blowing it out. So yes I think It helps.
Sorry if that was a bit gross.

I don’t know about anyone else - I suspect I am over-endowed in mucus-making talents - but if I don’t blow my nose during a bad cold I simply don’t have the capacity to snort it all up - there’s so much after a few sniffs I feel like I’m about to choke on the stuff, and physically can’t back any more up. (I only know this due to being caught out without a tissue on long walks etc. rather than deliberately avoiding a nose blow - which I think very impolite if you’re around others...)
