Please help my daughter identify a children's book!

dd(14) remembers her nursery school in France reading her a story with a fox/wolf chasing a giant pie/coin/biscuit/round thing on a path in a forest on the cover. The book was read in French but could have been translated. She is adamant she hasn't dreamt it

Please put her out of her misery and tell us the name of the book.
