Spag bowl?

Does this annoy anyone else??
Surely the abbreviation is Spag Bol as in Spaghetti Bolognese? Am I missing something (slang, different dish) or are people being dim?

Do people actually write Spag Bowl? I also assumed Spag Bol ie spaghetti Bolognese I guess some people are just thick?

tinatsarina · 15/04/2019 18:13

I would say spag bol never heard anyone say spag bowl

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/04/2019 18:13

I see people write spag bowl loads! It drives me mad! One of my pet peeves!

I have only ever seen it on MN, when it seemed to be a typo.

It’s Spag Bol!

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/04/2019 18:15

Hotpot- I don’t think it is a typo. The W is too far from the rest of the letters!

Only seen it on MN. Bol is the correct version in our house (And that if every one else I know...)

NoBaggyPants · 15/04/2019 18:19

My tablet autocorrects bol to bowl.

Can't say I've ever seen it though!

Charlequin · 15/04/2019 18:20

Yes! I know people that refer to it this way.
Really grinds my gears.

Isthisafreename · 15/04/2019 18:20

I'd say it's autocorrect rather than a typo. At least I would hope so......

Doje · 15/04/2019 18:23

Spag bol! Hmm.. Autocorrect just tried to change it to bowl for me, so maybe it's that. I will also accept spag bog. I know it's not correct, but I like it.

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 15/04/2019 18:24

Unfortunately I know people who actually say the words spag bowl AND spag bog!! Infuriates me lol, it's obviously spag bol!

TheFaerieQueene · 15/04/2019 18:26

Spaghetti bolognese annoys me because bolognese (ragu) shouldn’t be served with spaghetti, but a thicker pasta like tagliatelle.

misper · 15/04/2019 18:27

Spag bog is the superior term.
I hate 'spag bol' and 'spag bowl' is definitely not a thing

WellGoshDarnIt · 15/04/2019 18:28

My SIL calls it spag bog. It absolutely infuriates me.

CherryPavlova · 15/04/2019 18:29

It’s Betty Scolonaise in our house - leftover from toddlerhood.

ChipInTheSugar · 15/04/2019 18:29

My phone autocorrects it to "slag bol" GrinBlush

Iwouldlikesomecake · 15/04/2019 18:30

I have a friend who writes spag bowl. Definitely on purpose. I’ve unfollowed her on Facebook

MichonnesBBF · 15/04/2019 18:32

In a text I once received: 'Slag Bowl' can only assume the first was a typo and the second was autocorrect.

Sculpin · 15/04/2019 18:33

My autocorrect corrects spag bol to spag BIL Grin

HippyChickMama · 15/04/2019 18:33

It's Sketti-on the-Naise here because that's what ds used to call it as a toddler. I think it sounds like a rural village and I like it Grin

flameycakes · 15/04/2019 18:35

I call it spaghetti bollocknaise x

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/04/2019 18:52

Glad it isn’t just me that finds it stupid! It is irrational perhaps but it grates.

Fruityb · 15/04/2019 18:54

It was spag bog at home for years

CherieBabySpliffUp · 15/04/2019 18:57

The only place I have seen it is on Facebook where I have to sit on my hands to stop myself correcting it.

x2boys · 15/04/2019 19:39

Ds 1 used to enjoy Sketti for his tea HippyChick whilst watching cartoon,s on the Pooter Grin
