Child-free day in London

I have a child-free day in London tomorrow. I haven’t planned anything and it has crept up on me a bit. Have plans to meet friends for dinner in the evening, and have a couple of bits I want to do around Covent Garden at some point, but am looking for some inspiration for how to fill my time! I am happy just wandering and mooching around, but wanted to see if anyone has recommendations for anything a bit weird or quirky to go and see - I’m not a massive fan of your usual museums and art galleries, but do quite like the curious and macabre, something a bit weird and wonderful, does anyone know of any events, exhibitions or museums which might appeal? I wondered about going to the Clink prison museum, as will be down towards that for dinner later.
Happy to pay entry fees, and don’t really have any constraints on time or location within the city.
Thank you!!

I wouldnt bother with the Clink Museum. John Soanes House is worth a visit, as is the Hunterean Museum in the Royal College of Surgeons - lots of quirky bits in there! Both are walkable from Covent Garden too.

Thanks for the suggestions! Not sure John Soane’s house is quite what I’m after. The Hunterian Museum would have been amazing, but looked on the website and it says closed now until 2021 for refurbishment! So that’s a shame!

The "London Loo Tour" had me in hysterics Grin and I love the look of Gods Own Junkyard!
