If you are a coffee drinker

Have you ever woken up one day with an aversion to coffee?!
It's always my hot beverage of choice, don't drink anything else, except the occasional herbal tea at bedtime. Today, I couldn't even fathom having a cup and made a tea with milk instead 😳🤔 I'm still not quite sure what happened. 😅
Anyone else ever completely turn off a drink/food so suddenly?!

JudgeRindersMinder · 15/04/2019 17:19

Only when I was pregnant with my dd, I didn’t go off it when I was having ds

Yes when I was pregnant, the smell of it made me gag. It's basically the only thing I drink so I was a bit at sea with what to actually drink for nine months

SoupDragon · 15/04/2019 17:20

I went off coffee when I was pregnant with DD. Not when I was pregnant with her older brothers though.

Grumpbum123 · 15/04/2019 17:20

Only when pregnant

Ironfloor269 · 15/04/2019 17:21

Once I suddenly developed an aversion to coffee when I had a bout of gastro. A few days after it git better, the aversion went away.

Combopanda · 15/04/2019 17:21

Yep,I usually need several cups of tea before I'm a functional human. First sign i was pregnant everytime couldn't stomach the idea of tea at all.

Cailleachbeag · 15/04/2019 17:24

No, not pregnant! We are taking all necessary precautions at the moment!

There is a bug doing the rounds at the moment @ironfloor269, perhaps it's that 😬

When I was pregnant with DS1!

Nnnnnineteen · 15/04/2019 17:26

Also when pregnant. Staunch 3 cups before I even left the house drinker but the minute I was pregnant couldn't even stand the smell.

Cailleachbeag · 15/04/2019 17:27

Interesting that it's a pregnancy aversion for so many!
I stopped drinking it while pregnant but still craved it. That's another reason I find this so weird and wondered what my body is trying to tell me!

Only when hungover!

CheesecakeAddict · 15/04/2019 17:30

Yes, when pregnant...

Littlepond · 15/04/2019 17:40

Yup totally went off it... when pregnant...

screamifyouwant · 15/04/2019 17:44

Me too when pregnant both times .
I'm a bad coffee drinker so if I ever woke up wanting a cup of tea I'll be taking a pregnancy test .Grin

BlueEyedBengal · 15/04/2019 17:52

I love coffee I can honestly say I'm coffee powered. I have 6 children I an adult with learning disabilities and 1 a boy with autism, so coffee is keeping me awake and active. There are occasions that I go off coffee and crave a nice cup of tea made in a teapot. I can drink tea for days then go back to coffee. The only thing I think makes this happen ( and I am not pregnant, you have to have privacy to have sex and I have 6 children, so no chance of that!) is tea feels more hydrating than coffee so maybe dehydrated???

TheGodmother · 15/04/2019 17:54

Pregnant and menopause!

SoupDragon · 15/04/2019 17:58

I stopped drinking it while pregnant but still craved it.

Did you have a girl or a boy?

Itwasntme101 · 15/04/2019 18:00

I prefer tea when I'm unwell

Teenagemaw · 15/04/2019 18:02

I had a tummy bug recently and couldnt stomach it for 3 days.

CatCatDog · 15/04/2019 18:03

I felt like that but DP had already made me a cup. I took a sip and was sick almost straight away. I spent the day in bed and felt awful (exhausted, light-headed, nauseous) for the rest of the week. I suspect it was a virus.

boringlyboring · 15/04/2019 18:05

Yes, I get this occasionally (not due to pregnancy), for a week or two at a time. Sometimes it just doesn’t go down well, I’ll just stop completely and crave anything ice cold in the morning instead. Ideally I’d have have an ice slushy if I had the machine to make it.

Cailleachbeag · 15/04/2019 18:20

Definitely not pregnant! 😅 We have 3 young DC and I'm not sure i could tell you when DH and I last shared a bed, never mind anything else 😉

A bug coming on or dehydration could well be it. Think I'll try get an early night to avoid it taking hold.

Yep, not pregnant, own a fancy bean-to-cup machine, now well into peppermint and pu-erh tea. Shit happens.
