Can any one help please, I’m getting the run around from any/everywhere I’ve contacted.

Back story: I left my job Oct last year due to bullying. Wasn’t a biggie at the time as there is lots of work in my area of experience atm.

However in jan I became seriously ill given 10% of survival type ill.
But once I started to recover, came on leaps & bounds comparatively.

I’m still having mobility issues, get very tired very quickly, and when tired can get a bit confused. My short term memory isn’t great either. My consultant thinks it’s at least going to be 6 months before I should even be thinking about work.

At present I’m living on (fast reducing) savings and ‘D’P.
Things were rocky before this all happened and he admitted to friends he had been planning to leave before I got ill, and he is resenting having to help me more and more so I can’t rely on him.

I’ve always had a job of some sort since I was 12, never claimed for anything so all this is confusing to me.

The gov.com website is a nightmare, CAB impossible to get a hold of. I asked in hospital to speak to a social worker but was told they only deal with care packages.

I really don’t know what to do.

Can anyone point me in the right direction

You can go into your local jobcentre plus and get a form to apply for ESA, or download and print it off the gov. website just search How to apply for ESA x

Thanks for that, no one had mentioned ESA. I’ve rung today and been told that because of my NI payments I should be able to get something. Which is some weight off my mind.

You should apply for new style esa which will assess you on your NI stamp. To apply you call 0800 328 5644 option 2 option 6.

also look atvapplying for PIP. the number should be on gov.uk
