Do you prefer fruit or vegetables?

Boring question I know but I'm curious.

I loved fruit as a child. I ate it constantly. We had an excellent fruit shop where I lived and I regularly devoured apples, kiwis and kumquats and other assorted fruits. I liked some vegetables too but not nearly so many as in adulthood.

Now I much prefer vegetables. I'll eat almost any vegetable in large quantities but I'm really not a big fan of fruit. I love bananas(if still pretty green) I enjoy the occasional piece of apple, I like strawberries, blackberries, mango, grapes,an occasional Kiwi and peaches but don't eat any of them very often. Citrus fruit is too intense for me now. Someone bought me some raspberries recently and I have absolutely no desire to eat them.(Don't worry, I'll probably freeze them and put them in something.)

Are you a fruit bat or a veggie lover?

Vegetables - fruit is too inconsistent. Can be nice one week then too soft/sour/furry/strange the next.

Carrots = you know what you’re getting.

I have to make myself eat fruit nowadays, the house I grew up in had a big garden with loads of fruit growing and I loved it as a kid. Really ripe raspberries, plums and strawberries were amazing. I find most fruit I buy now is just not really ripe or as tasty. My dc eat shot loads of it though so we always have a lot in.
I love vegetables but mainly adulterated in some way! We rarely just have boiled veg, just at MILs really.

Vegetables definitely. I make various veg soups for lunch, and always have a big portion of green veg with dinner.
But I do eat fresh brambles and bilberries on my porridge every morning, and I like sliced banana with home made curry. I don’t like tropical fruits - too sickly sweet - and I don’t like most supermarket fruit as it never ripens.
I have a plum tree in my garden, and gorge on those during its short season.

Vegetables. Was just thinking this the other day actually, as I only buy fruit locally and in season, so we’ll be eating the first strawberries soon but then after a couple of months won’t have them again for a year and won’t miss them either.
Do love my veg though.

Veg. Broccoli is in the god tier.
Fruit is a bit meh, take it or leave it but do like an orange, I don't really have a sweet tooth.

Sadly fruit. I'd happily live on mangos, oranges, apples and melon if I could. I eat vegetables and they're mostly fine (as long as they're not kale or rocket), but I wouldn't say I actively enjoy them.

Vegetables all the way

Thank you to those who have replied so far. I feel a bit better about not being a big fan of fruit as it's more common than I thought.

Fruit. DH prefers veg. I wish I was the same because of the sugar content of fruit.

StaceyB92 · 16/04/2019 10:32

Definitely fruit!!

I do like a select few veggies. Some have to be raw for be to eat it like carrots and white cabbage! But I will eat pretty much any fruit you give to me
