Does your cleaner put the clean dishes away?

I know its not a problem in the scheme of things but i have a new cleaner. I tidy up as much as i can its a one bedded flat and its just me. I do wash the dishes but often leave them on the side to dry if im rushing to go to work. My last cleaner was too much always going in my cupboards and wardrobes organising them without actual cleaning but this one is a great cleaner but doesnt move much. Should i make sure everything is very tidy before i leave on a morning?

My cleaned would wash anything left In the sink but not put stuff away. I always made sure all the floors and surfaces were left clear for her to clean though.

Yes we've always cleared the draining board ourselves.

It depends partly on how much you are paying. We paid for 2 hours which wasn't loads for the size of our house, so we cleared everything back. Had we booked 3 hours, we might not have been so obsessive about clearing all the decks.

Well, thats the thing. Its one dpuble bedroom, living room, hall, kitchen and bathroom. Ive already gone from 2 hours to 2 1/2. I was going to ask her to wipe the fridge inside but i dont know if thats allowed? My last one was into everything she was obbsessed with putting things in order. It was too much in the end when she was hiding my shampoo (thats what it felt like!)

That does sound like plenty. I suggest you ask her to stack the dishes neatly on the worktop and clean the drainer.

EachandEveryone · 15/04/2019 16:06

Yes she does that anyway. She really is a great cleaner and i hope the agency arent taking too much off her. How much do you tip?

Two and a half hours for a one bedroom flat seems like a really long time, she should have time to wipe down the inside of the fridge.

Megan2018 · 15/04/2019 16:09

I ask mine not to put things away because we have a large kitchen and I get annoyed when I can’t find things. She leaves anything in a neat pile.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 15/04/2019 16:11

Mine puts stuff away and puts a wash on and I love her. She’s the nicest person ever and I cancelled the other week nearly losing her and felt very anxious. She’s a star. I try to tidy first as much as possible but in your situation think putting stuff away or at least lifted off drainer should be done

EachandEveryone · 24/04/2019 15:47

Well, she left the key on the kitchen table this week. Thank goodness shes gone on holiday my heart sunk when i saw it!

Mine does put stuff away, but I try and make sure all surfaces are clear and dishes put away as she prefers to do 'putting away and organizing' over 'cleaning' and I would rather spend 30 mins having a super tidy in the morning than have to do any cleaning.

My cleaner will put clean dishes away, she will empty the dishwasher, clean dirty dishes if there are any left from breakfast/or stack them in the dishwasher. She's brilliant! I do try and make sure the house is pretty tidy before she comes though so she can concentrate on cleaning and not moving our mess!

marciagetscreamed · 25/04/2019 13:45

What Easterbunny said. Mine will pretty much do anything I ask her too but I always try to leave the house tidy so she can clean, rather than put stuff away.

Easterbunnyhashoppedoff · 25/04/2019 13:47

Forgot the time I started for a new man, been once. Second visit he text me could I pack cases for him and his ds for their weeks holiday?

bingoitsadingo · 25/04/2019 15:13

Mine will put stuff away if I leave it in the draining board. I try not to though as I figure I can do it quicker as I know where everything goes.
