Who can I complain to about a company wanting to chase up ppi for me then charge me?

I do not remember asking them to write to me, nor filling in anything. Looking online, others have had the same issue. I'm sure it’s a scam. I want to make sure they don’t go looking for anything then charge me. How can I get it in writing that I don’t want them to act on my behalf? Without somehow authorising them.

These ppi ckaim people are as bad as the ppi in the first place

Can't you just ignore them? If they did go on to do anything without your authorization then they would have a hard time proving that you had given the go ahead without a signature.

Just ignore them. Banks/lenders won’t deal with them if they don’t have a valid , signed authorisation from you.

Thanks. That’s reassuring. I was worried that I might have to say 'no' formally in some way otherwise they could just go and do it. I’ve got an email from them now confirming cancellation (even though there should be nothing to cancel Hmm).
