Has my DD really got chickenpox?

My DD was sent home from nursery on Friday with suspected chickenpox. I phoned the doctors who said take her to the pharmacist. They couldn't confirm it either way. There is only about five spots and none of them have started watering or blistering and it's been two days now, but I've read that you can still have chicken pox with only a few spots and no blistering. Has anyone else has this experience please?

My DD had chickenpox with just a few spots on her back. Unlike DS who was covered in them.

What age? Where are the spots? CP normally blisters and scabs and when they scab over are no longer infectious

Hi did your DD spots blister over and after how many days please?

dementedpixie · 14/04/2019 21:09

Could you post a picture. If they aren't blistering then it doesn't sound like CP

My Ds had a really mild dose of chickenpox when he was 2 and a half. 3 years later he got it again and was covered.

My dd has it couple of months ago. Fair few spots but mostly tiny and the most microscopic blisters ever that you had to peer at to see!

Also didnt really itch and she was well in herself.

I did take her to docs in case and they confirmed pox.

My oldest dd had a handful of spots at 1 has never had pox at 11 so I suspect that was it as well.

My sister was just like this when she had them at 3. I had more spots but I don’t remember it bothering me.

I did give it to my dad though and he was very unwell....!

So totally possible.

My daughter had cp when she was about 3. She only got about 4 spots around her groin but they were the usual blister and then scabbed.

If your daughters aren't showing signs of scabbing yet, it might be something else.
