How do I keep my 3 month olds nails short?

I darent clip them, he hates me biting them and he won't wear scratch mits. What other options are there?
He actually drew blood on his beautiful face today 😔

I feed to sleep in my arms then nibble when she's asleep.

File them, or buy sleep sluts with Incorporated mittens so he can't take the mittens off.

Try and distract him while you're cutting them, what about some music with you singing along. You'll have to show him who's boss, it'll be the teeth bushing issues next else.

Much easier to get them used to snipping from an early age... I sit mine in front of washing machine or something distracting and use the John Lewis baby clippers which are much easier to manipulate on tiny fingers. Alternatively they also sell little nail files you slip over your finger

We have these and have used since a little baby. I can't recommend enough. Worth the outlay. Mine is a 3yr old now and I can whip through her nails in seconds with these.

I always used baby nail scissors, easier than clippers and never cut them.

I found clippers easier but then I find clippers easier for my own nails too so I guess everyone is different. Agree with feeding and doing it when they're all dozy on milk. Then you can just feed them again if they get arsey.

I use baby nail scissors. I can't get on with the clippers because they're too clumsy and DH took a chunk of DS's finger off with them so scissors it is

I clip mine when he is asleep. I had the same issue as you and was terrified but when I did it, it was fine. If you can do it once then keep filing them to keep them short.

My husband files my 7 week old son's while he's feeding. Don't know how long it will be successful for though!

It's the spy hole and the scissor like action of the nipper clippers that make them ace. I don't have any connections honest. They are just ace. No cuts ever on mine as a baby using these

I bite them while he feeds. Normal to scratch themselves though. My HV said it's better for development than scratch mitts which hinder environment interaction.

Biting baby's nails off?! That's just odd to me!

Surely getting them used to them being clipped will serve you better when they are older and will calm any fears you or the child have about it? Unless people plan to bite off their 5 year old's nails for them- or worse want to teach them to bite them off themselves?!
