I've just bought a new iPhone and need to swap my sim over from my old iPhone.

I'm planning on selling my old iPhone so can someone give me a step by step guide on what to do please?

You need to back up your old iPhone via iTunes (it will need connecting to a computer/laptop to do this). You can then use this backup on your new iPhone to import all of your photos etc.

Once you've swapped sim cards you should still be able to use the settings app on the old iPhone and restore the factory settings.

I found it easiest to do the backup and import this onto the new phone, check everything is there and then do the reset just so that I knew everything had transferred correctly before being permanently deleted.

It’s a lot easier to transfer data from old iphone to new - follow the onscreen set up and you simply have to hold old phone using camera to scan image on new phone then it will transfer everything - just make sure you’ve got Apple ID password and go.
You’ll find your apps are all there in the right place, wallpaper, etc., contacts, notes, and so on are all the same. It’s really simple, clever and easy to do.
If something does go wrong you can swap your sim card back into old phone and start again.
Only when you’re sure you’ve got everything from old phone, To wipe off all your info. go to settings - General - reset - then select Erase All Content and Settings
Good luck!
